TXST Showroom Posters

Showroom at Housing and Residential Life Posters

GOALS FOR THIS PROMOTION

How students experience spaces and your brand has become increasingly important. As prices rise and the value of a college degree comes into question, students try to find campuses that they see value and belonging. They see your brand and can feel at home.

This poster series was grown from buttons that were given to prospective students at our large-scale recruitment days, called “Bobcat Day”. With the positive feedback from students, guests, and TXST groups, we wanted to take something positive and TXST centric and put that in our spaces across campus.

Kaylee Marsh was tasked with creating two, three poster series that showed off TXST brand, made students feel like this room could be their own space, and highlighted life on-campus. Kaylee was able to take campus icons, mascots, and images to create two series of posters that are on display across various showrooms on-campus.

The “gold” series is displayed in the Housing and Residential Life building on-campus full-time, while the “maroon” series is a moving display for showrooms during New Student Orientation, and Welcome Center Tours spaces. These six posters have been able to center our spaces in TXST experience, while still making the spaces feel like they are designed intentionally for students and not just purchased from the bookstore.

FUN FACTS

  • Each poster is 18"x24", creating a large visual focal point for our showrooms.
  • These series were launched in Spring 2026, as we reimagined spaces and prepared for New Student Orientation this summer.

"I genuinely love working in an environment that is so fun, supportive, and welcoming. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the chance to contribute to projects that make this role so meaningful to me; from designing new posters… to collaborating with my coworkers on an Instagram reel for River Fest (and yes, included jumping into the San Marcos River 😆).

Moments like these remind me how much I enjoy using creativity, storytelling, and design to serve the Texas State community. I’m incredibly thankful for the recognition this week, the amazing people I get to work with, and the professional experience I continue to gain through Housing and Residential Life. So grateful to be part of a team that makes work feel both impactful and so enjoyable."

Bobcat Day Buttons

"So grateful for the opportunity to work with such an amazing team and mentor! This project started as a small creative idea and grew into something so meaningful, and I’m proud to see it come to life in our space… Experiences like this remind me why I love creative work. 💛✨ Go Bobcats!"

GOALS FOR THIS PROMOTION

Bobcat Day is Texas State's large-scale open house event for prospective students. With two events in fall, and two events in spring, thousands of prospective students and their families come to San Marcos to learn about what Texas State can offer.

With a first-year live on-requirement, we want to encourage prospective students to take time to talk with our housing team about options, timeline, pricing, and all of the best parts of living on-campus. To encourage individuals to stop by our browse table, we created buttons exclusively for Bobcat Day events.

The October 25, 2025 date we launched a halloween edition of our Supercat logo on a button. This sparked tremendous talk across the first event, with students, guests, and faculty and staff wanting to get their hands on a button.

The secondary buttons including the TXST Bobcat and States Up were distributed at browse tables for the next three Bobcat Days.

FUN FACTS

  • Each logo was designed by student graphic designer Kaylee Marsh
  • Over 5,000 buttons were distrbuted across four Bobcat Days
  • This project was the catalyst for creating a student showroom poster series as displayed in our other submission. (We had overwhelmingly positive feedback on the unique yellow bobcat buttons!)
